Bring test cup, sample and/or controls to room temperature (15-27°C) before testing. Instruct the donor not to put anything in their mouth for at least 10 minutes before collection, including food, beverages, chewing gum or tobacco products
1. Bring the pouch to room temperature before opening. Remove the test from the sealed pouch and use within one hour of opening.
2. Remove the test cup from the sealed pouch and instruct the person being tested to place the tongue against the root of the upper or lower jaw to collect saliva in the mouth.
3. Instruct the person being tested to place the sponge between the lower cheek and gum and rub it back and forth between the left and right cheek and gum until the sponge is completely saturated with saliva. Do not bite, suck or chew the sponge as this may cause it to break. After about 4 minutes the sponge will be completely saturated. At the same time the color of the indicator will change from colorless to pink.
4. Remove the collector from your mouth. Place the saturated oral fluid collector into the chamber and press the sponge completely against the screen to collect the oral fluid.
6. Attach the cap, shake three times and start the timer.
7. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read the results after 10 minutes. Do not read the results after 20 minutes.
