• Test procedure: The antibody then reacts with the drug-protein conjugate and a visible colored line appears in the test region of the specific drug strip.

• Interpretation of results: The presence of a drug above the cut-off concentration leads to saturation of all binding sites of the antibody and therefore no colored line is formed in the test region.

  • A drug-positive urine sample will not produce a colored line in the specific test region of the strip due to drug competition.

  • A drug-negative urine sample will produce a line in the test region because there is no drug competition.

• Procedural Control: A colored line always appears in the control region, regardless of the test result. This indicates that the correct sample volume has been added and the membrane is bonded to the wick.
