1. Bring the bag to room temperature before opening. Remove the test cassette from the sealed bag and use within one hour.

2. Place the test cassette on a clean, flat surface. Hold the pipette vertically and add 1 drop of serum or plasma (approx. 25 L) into the sample well of the test cassette. Then add 2 drops of buffer (approx. 80 L) and start the stopwatch. Avoid air bubbles in the sample well (see figure below)

3. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read the test result after 10 minutes. Do not evaluate the test result after 20 minutes.
The HCV rapid test cassette (serum/plasma) is a qualitative membrane-based immunoassay for the detection of antibodies against HCV in serum or plasma. The membrane is pre-coated with recombinant HCV antigen in the test area of the cassette. During the test process, the serum or plasma sample reacts with recombinant HCV antigen, which is conjugated with colloid gold. This mixture migrates chromatographically through the membrane using capillary action, reacts with the recombinant HCV antigen on the membrane and produces a colored line. The presence of the colored line indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result. To control the process, a colored line always appears in the control area. This means that the sample volume was sufficient and that the liquid completely penetrated the membrane.
