1. Allow the pouch to reach room temperature before opening. Remove the test cassette from the sealed pouch and use within one hour.
2. Place the test cassette on a clean, flat surface. Hold the pipette vertically and add 1 drop of serum or plasma (approximately 120 uL) into the sample well of the test cassette.
3. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read the test result after 10 minutes. Do not interpret the test result after 30 minutes.
The HBsAg Rapid Test Cassette is a qualitative, two-sided solid phase sandwich immunoassay for the detection of HBsAg in serum or plasma. The membrane is pre-coated with anti-HBsAg antibodies in the test line region of the cassette. During testing, the serum or plasma sample reacts with the particles coated with anti-HBsAg antibodies. The mixture migrates chromatographically along the membrane by capillary action, reacts with anti-HBsAg antibodies on the membrane and forms a colored line. The presence of this colored line in the test region indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result. A colored line that always appears in the control line region serves as a procedural control and indicates that sufficient sample volume has been added and the membrane is sufficiently wetted.
