1. Add 10yl of whole blood through the sample dropper into the provided dilution buffer.

2. Close the tube and shake for 10 seconds to mix well.

3. Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and place it on a flat surface.

4. Unscrew the tip of the tube and add two drops into the sample well (S) of the test cassette.

5. Start the timer and read the result after 10 to 20 minutes.

The blood glucose HbA1c rapid test cassette is a chromatographic immunoassay for the semi-quantitative determination of HbA1c in human whole blood. The test is used as an aid in the treatment and monitoring of long-term blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Glycated protein is formed post-translationally by the slow, non-enzymatic reaction between glucose and amino groups on proteins. HbA1c is a clinically useful index of the mean blood glucose level over the past 120 days, the average lifespan of red blood cells. HbA1c is considered to be a more reliable parameter in monitoring blood glucose levels than measuring blood glucose levels using a conventional glucose meter.
